Sustainability

We make things, and with things come waste. We are trying our hardest to ensure we are reducing waste as much as we can, recycling where possible, and reusing what we can.

We do this by:

  • Using compostable polybags to protect our garments in transit
  • Embracing slow fashion - we make clothing to last seasons, without a rapid turnover
  • No clothing to landfill - we donate any excess stock to charity
  • Compostable mailing bags
  • Carbon neutral shipping
  • Using sustainable, environmentally fabrics where possible

Charity

We are uber proud to be working with The Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation. We pledge to donate 1% of profits towards the treatment and prevention of avoidable childbirth injuries for women in Ethiopia.

Ethical Manufacturing

We work with a certified, ethical, and sustainable manufacturer in China who prioritize technology and waste management. They go above and beyond to minimize waste and exceed environmental policies.

Our suppliers invest in the latest technology, which reduces emissions and conserves natural resources. They also use natural or recycled materials and biodegradable packaging.

We're committed to reducing wastage in inventory, transportation, motion, waiting, overproduction, overprocessing, and defects.

In the future, we'll continue working with suppliers who invest in modern technology and follow strict environmental policies to minimize our carbon footprint and provide sustainable garments.

We respectfully acknowledge the Yugambeh and Kauraraig people, the Traditional Custodians of this land where Rex & Isla was founded. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia. We recognise their continuous relationship to the land and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
